The artist

Tina Cozart has never believed in choosing one medium.

A mural the height of a staircase, a canvas for a nursery, a face painted for the stage, a ring made to be worn for years — to her, they're the same act: taking something ordinary and making it personal.

Everything is built in layers and sealed to last — hand-mixed colour, brush and airbrush worked wet-into-wet, then a clear coat so the piece holds its life for years. Into many of them she works a hidden layer of UV-reactive pigment: invisible by day, so the work reads as one thing in the light and another the moment the lights go out.

That second life is the part she loves most — a painting you can change by reaching for a switch. It's why a Cozart piece is never quite finished being looked at: there is always another way to see it.

She works the way the best things are still made — slowly, by hand, in conversation with the people she makes them for. When she isn't painting, she shoots film alongside 8nfinity Photography.
